(Spencer)– Two people were injured earlier this week when a vehicle left a snow-covered road in Clay county.
The Iowa State Patrol says 20-year-old Dixie Norgaard of Dickens was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix on County Road B-24 just west of 270th Avenue when she lost control. The vehicle crossed the road and went into the north ditch where it struck a culvert and vaulted over a cement wall…coming to rest on its wheels.
Norgaard and a passenger in her vehicle, Brock Norgaard, both of Dickens, were taken to Spencer Hospital. Dixie Norgaard was treated for non-incapacitating injuries; Brock Norgaard was checked over for possible injuries.
6,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
The mishap took place around 8:15 a.m. Monday.
The Spencer Fire Department and Spencer Hospital ambulance assisted on the scene.
