According to the report, the Clay County Fair and Events Center employed 13 full-time and 49 part-time/seasonal employees, along with 293 additional employees during the fair. The Association says it spent a little more than $1.6 million with Clay county businesses and residents in 2022.

The report goes on to say that 12 local non-profit organizations raised a little more than $618,000 during the 2022 Clay County Fair and that 750 4-H and FFA youth from 46 counties in Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska exhibited livestock and human science projects at the fair.

The report says 357,759 people visited the fair and event center in 2022, attending either the fair or one of the other 246 events held there throughout the year. Non-fair attendance totaled 32,174.

The Clay County Fair Association says it supported 34 non-profit groups and charities in 2022 by providing nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise, concert tickets and admission tickets for fundraising events or by serving as a sponsor and/or host.
