(Spencer)– No injuries were reported, but charges were filed against several people in connection with a two-vehicle collision Friday in Clay county.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Nickolas Joens of Harris was driving a 2001 Ford F250 southbound on a county road when he entered an intersection and collided with a 2009 Chevrolet truck driven by 47-year-old Scott Johnson of Hartley.
In addition to various other charges, deputies say a passenger in one of the vehicles, 19-year-old Jenna Ehret of Lake Park, was charged with public intoxication and assault on a paramedic. Ehret was booked into the Clay county jail pending a court appearance.
A 17-year-old female juvenile from Lakefield was cited and released for possession of alcohol under the legal age.
Joens was charged with operating while intoxicated…first offense; driving under suspension, open container, operating a motor vehicle without registration, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to prove security, failure to file SR insurance and supplying alcohol to minors.
Authorities say the incident took place around 6:40 p.m. and that it remains under investigation.
$7,000 in damage was estimated to the truck driven by Joens and owned by J & J Plumbing; $15,000 in damage was estimated to the truck Johnson was driving.
