November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Spencer teen being served with civil papers was arrested Thursday evening in a subsequent investigation after a Clay county sheriff’s deputy smelled marijuana coming from him.

A consent search of the residence at 720 East 9th Street in Spencer resulted in authorities finding what’s alleged to be synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol.

The suspect, 18-year-old Alex Cody, was arrested and booked into the Clay county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and underage alcohol possession.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department and their K-9 Unit.
