(Spencer)– Progress continues in Spencer in the clean up of tree debris from Monday night’s derecho. As of Friday evening, city officials estimated 65 percent of the residential debris had been cleared and 85 percent of debris from the right-of-way had been picked up.
City officials again say contractors will make repeated passes with critical safety concerns being removed first. Once all the debris has been cleared stump grinding in the right of way areas will get underway. They add multiple types of equipment will be used to clean final debris from the streets.
Both tree sites in Spencer remain open for public use.
