City Officials In Milford Say They’ve Addressed Conflict Of Interest Issues Over Engineering Services

August 27, 2025

(Milford)– City officials in Milford say they’re confident conflict of interest concerns involving a firm that provides engineering services for the city have been addressed.

Some city council members in the past have expressed concern over the same firm also providing services to citizens and developers in Milford, while also representing the city. Mayor Steve Anderson says they’ve had some discussion with the firm and he believes the matter has been taken care of…

“We had a conversation with them and we kind of laid out the groundwork that they’re going to do the civil engineering work, the storm sewer and the sanitary sewer and the drainage things and that kind of work for the city, that they need to stick to that and not be doing it for a development that might be coming to town or a private property owner that wants to build a new house, because then we get a conflict when the engineer is doing the work for the city, is supposed to be looking out for the city and then looking out for the developer or the contractor, the homeowner, whatever.”

Anderson says it wound up costing the city additional money as they had to hire an outside engineer to ensure things were up to snuff when those incidents occurred.
