(Spirit Lake)– The city of Spirit Lake will once again this spring conduct controlled burns around the Drainage District 22 ponds located within city limits.
City officials say they’ve been working closely with the DNR and the Spirit Lake Fire Department in coordinating the burns, which they say are needed to control undesirable vegetation.
They say the burns will be scheduled according to weather and wind conditions to minimize resident’s exposure to smoke.
The burns are scheduled for the next several weeks.
