City Of Spencer Receiving $1.3 M From State For Flood Recovery Assistance

December 05, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– Some additional financial assistance appears to be on the way from the state to assist the city of Spencer with recovery efforts from the June flood. Interim City Manager Kevin Robinson told the city council Monday it stems from a phone call he received a few days ago from the Governor’s Office. Robinson says it involves $1.37 million in American Rescue Plan money the city received for a bridge project on West 18th Street…

Robinson is proposing the money go toward micro grant programs assisting commercial and rental property owners who’s buildings were damaged beyond repair…

Robinson says he’ll bring a formal recommendation before the council for consideration at their next meeting.
