(Spencer)– The city of Spencer is looking for a few good people to fill some vacancies on various boards and commissions.
Vacancies that need to be filled by July 1st include a four year term on the Airport Board of Trustees; two seats, each for six year terms, on the Compensation Advisory Board representing the city’s 3rd and 4th wards; a four year term on the Golf Course Board of Trustees; a three year term on the Historic Preservation Commission; a four year term on the Plumbing Board of Examiners; a three year term on the Renaissance Initiative Committee; a six year term on the Utilities Board of Trustees; and two seats on the Zoning Board of Adjustment: one is for a five year term; the other is to fill a term that expires June 30th, 2014.
Any Spencer residents interested in serving on any of the committees should send a brief resume or letter to Mayor Reynold Peterson at Spencer City Hall, 418 2nd Avenue West, Spencer, or call 580-7200 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Both female and male candidates are urged to apply as the city is striving to meet a request from the State Legislature for gender balance on boards and commissions.
