(Okoboji)– The city of Okoboji is looking to step up surveillance of a heavily used park. It’s the result of some recent vandalism at Speier Park. City officials say someone tried to set a fire in one of the park’s restrooms recently. The park’s shelter house was vandalized in another incident.
A proposal to install security cameras at the park, as well as at the city’s recycling site adjacent to the Spirit Lake airport across the road from the park, will likely be up for consideration at the Okoboji City Council’s next regular meeting in August.
