City Of Estherville Continuing Its Neighborhood Facade Grant Program

October 11, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Estherville)– The city of Estherville is continuing its Neighborhood Facade Grant Program another year. City Administrator Penny Clayton says it’s been an effective tool in helping to improve aesthetics around the town…

“Typically the projects that have gotten funded are the project that are either doing brand new siding or they’re re-painting their existing house siding. Because we’ve had so many good applicants every year that those are the ones that rise to the top because they have the most visual impact to the community.”

Clayton says $40,000 has been set aside for this round of the program…

“We did budget for 10 homes again this year, so $40,000 because we do a 50-50 grant up to a maximum of $4,000. We plan to go ahead and open that cycle and start taking applications. Applications will close on November 15th. The Excel Committee will review them at the end of November and make a recommendation on award.”

Applications are available by contacting city offices.
