City Of Arnolds Park No Longer Allowing Commercial Docks In Residential Areas

April 09, 2026

(Arnolds Park)– With one member absent, the Arnolds Park City Council voted 4-0 Wednesday evening to accept a recommendation from the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission to no longer allow commercial, or C3 Docks, in residential areas.

City official Ron Walker says it stems from an application the city received for a dock on Lower Gar on property 110 feet wide with a 10 foot easement down the side and another 10 foot easement across the front of the lakeshore with 11 hoists being put up. Walker described it as “keyholing”…

Under the change, commercial docks previously approved in residential areas can remain, but any new requests won’t be allowed. Existing ones will no longer be valid once the property is sold or other changes are made.
