(Fairmont, Mn.)– A Fairmont man has been charged in a July hit-and-run incident. Officers were dispatched to the scene of a collision between a car and scooter Monday, July 18th at an intersection in Fairmont. The three wheeled scooter was found overturned by officers just before 4 pm, with a man who was bleeding from the back of his head. He was transported to a hospital.
21-year-old Ethan Taylor Meixell was later identified as the driver of the vehicle, and was later located. He informed police he was attempting to make a left hand turn when he saw the scooter. A criminal complaint says he admitted to striking the scooter with his vehicle, panicked, and left the scene shortly after. The victim suffered multiple broken vertebrae and bleeding as a result of the crash, according to his daughter.
Meixell was arrested last week and charged with failure to stop for an injury crash and criminal vehicular operation.
