(Windom, Mn.)– Police in Windom have released additional details into a fatal shooting and burglary in that city earlier this week.
A suspect in the case, 38-year-old Jamie Lee Voelker of Windom, has been charged with one count each of murder in the 2nd degree with intent…not premeditated; and murder in the 2nd degree without intent while committing a felony.
Voelker was arrested Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting early that morning of 70-year-old Kathryn Lynn Voelker of Windom. Police were called to her residence around 5:19 am and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. She was taken by ambulance to the Windom hospital where she died.
Jamie Voelker was found a short time later after police were to 1229 River Road in Windom after receiving a call of a burglary at that address with a man in the bathroom. He was then taken into custody.
