Change Of Venue Granted In Christian Goyne Yarns Case

October 13, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Trial for Christian Goyne Yarns, accused of shooting a woman in the parking lot of a Milford business earlier this year, is being moved out of Dickinson county. Judge Carl Petersen has granted a change of venue, with the trial being moved to Buena Vista county. It’s scheduled to start December 6th.

Goyne Yarns was charged in the February 3rd shooting of Shelby Woizeschke in the parking lot of GrapeTree Medical Staffing. The charge against Goyne Yarns was upgraded to first degree murder after Woizeschke died of her injuries several days later.

Goyne Yarns had been scheduled to go on trial back in August in Dickinson County District Court but that wound up being postponed after a motion was granted for a mental competency evaluation.
