Cement Truck Accident Injures Rock Rapids Man

(Boyden)—A Rock Rapids man was injured Wednesday when a cement truck he was driving rolled onto its side.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Daniel Newby was driving the truck on a county road northwest of Boyden and was turning onto a farm driveway when the rear tires went into the ditch.

Newby was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital. There was no word on the extent or nature of his injuries.

About $7,000 in damage was estimated to the 2000 Sterling cement truck.

The incident took place shortly before 10:00 a.m.
