(Spencer)– A car-semi collision Wednesday at the intersection of Clay county roads B-24 and M-50 sent one person to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 55-year-old Nicole Christensen of Spencer was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala northbound on County Road M-50 and was attempting to make a left turn onto County Road B-24 when she turned into the path of a southbound semi driven by 67-year-old Russell Meier of Harris.
Christensen was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with incapacitating injuries. No injuries were reported to Meier.
Troopers say charges are pending against Christensen in connection with the collision, which took place shortly after 11:00 a.m.
$15,000 in damage was estimated to the car driven by Christense; the truck driven by Meier and owned by D & K Transportation of Ocheyedan, sustained an estimated $7,000 in damage.
