(Estherville)– A car vs. pedestrian collision in Estherville has claimed the life of an Estherville woman.
Estherville police say officers were called shortly after 10:00 a.m. Monday to the intersection of Iowa Highways 4 and 9 in downtown Estherville.
Upon investigating, officers determined 60-year-old Dean Lundgren of Estherville was was driving a 2003 Ford van southbound on Highway 4 and was attempting to turn left onto Highway 9 when he didn’t see 73-year-old Judith Anderson of Estherville, who was walking in a crosswalk, striking her.
Anderson was taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville and was transfered by helicopter to a SIoux Falls hospital where she later died of her injuries.
