(Spencer)– A Spencer man sustained minor injuries and faces drunk driving charge after a vehicle he was driving collided with a house Wednesday evening in Spencer.
Police say 53-year-old Brent Kingery of Spencer was driving a 1970 Chevrolet pickup westbound on West 16th Street and had pulled into a driveway. Authorities say Kingery then backed up and went forward, running over a lawn ornament and crashing into the front of the house at 1521 17th Avenue West.
Kingery was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
$5,000 in damage was estimated to the house owned by Douglas Peck of Spencer. $2,000 in damage was estimated to the pickup.
Kingery was cited with failure to maintain control and operating while intoxicated, first offense.
The collision took place shortly before 7:30 p.m.
