Car Collides With Tractor, One Person Injured

November 22, 2014

(Paullina)– The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a collision this past Saturday involving a car and a tractor that sent one person to the hospital.

Authorities say 16-year-old Johnathon Crowhurst of Primghar was driving a 1991 Chevrolet northbound on Redwing Avenue just north of Paullina and 30-year-old Scott Wallin of Paullina was driving a 1998 Case tractor which was also northbound. Deputies say the car driven by Crowhurst struck the tractor Wallin was driving in the rear as Wallin was making a left turn. The tractor then rolled coming to rest on the passenger side.

Crowhurst was taken by ambulance to Baum Harmon hospital in Primghar with non-incapacitating injuries.

3,600-dollars in damage was estimated to the car driven by Crowhurst; the tractor Wallin was driving sustained an estimated 27-thousand dollars in damage.

Crowhurst was cited for failure to maintain control.

The collision took place shortly before 6:00 p.m.
