(Worthington, Mn.)– Minor injuries were reported Tuesday when a car rear-ended a semi on Highway 59 two miles north of the Iowa/Minnesota border.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 59-year-old Alfred Stumph of Spooner, Wisconsin was driving a 2007 Freightliner semi when he became stuck while trying to go up an icy hill. Authorities say a 2003 Buick driven by 63-year-old Yolanda Turrubiates of Denison came upon the scene and collided with the rear of the semi.
Turrubiates was taken by ambulance to Avera Hospital in Worthington where she was treated for what was described as non life-threatening injuries. No injuries were reported to Stumph.
Minor damage was reported to the semi; the car was totaled.
The collision took place shortly after 11:30 a.m.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office.
