(Sanborn)—A collision Saturday evening at the intersection of Highway 18 and a county road just west of Sanborn involving a car and a motor home injured both drivers.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Grady Peterson of Fulda, Minnesota was driving a 1979 Mobile Traveler Home northbound on Redwing Avenue and had stopped for a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 18. Deputies say Peterson pulled into the path of a westbound 2000 Dodge Neon driven by 17-year-old Bradey Hinken of Sheldon. Hinken’s vehicle collided with the rear of the motor home, which rolled onto its left side and came to rest facing eastbound.
Peterson and Hinken were both taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital with unknown injuries.
Damage to the motor home was estimated at $2,500 while the car sustained an estimated $3,500 in damage.
Peterson was cited for failure to have a valid driver’s license, failure to obey a stop sign and violation of financial liability for an accident.
The collision took place shortly before 9:00 p.m.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sanborn Police Department; the Primghar, Sanborn and Sheldon ambulances and Sanborn Fire and Rescue.
