(Spirit Lake)– The longtime property manager at Camp Foster is stepping down. The YMCA of the Okoboji’s announced today (Fri.) Kevin Godfredsen is retiring.
Godfredsen has served in that capacity since February, 1981, amounting to 43 summer camping seasons. Godfredsen says he’s seen a lot of changes at Camp Foster over those years. He says the most notable is a land acquisition that made it possible for the camp to expand, along with improvements to utilities and infrastructure.
Godfredsen adds he will always have fond memories of of the many kids and counselors over the years.
