(Jackson)- Burn bans in Minnesota have been expanded, almost the entire south of the state is under severe burn bans, with most places only allowing small campfires. Jackson, Nobles, Murray, Cottonwood, Martin and other surrounding counties all have large burning banned, and the ban extends up to the Twin Cities.
None of Minnesota has an outright burn ban that extends to campfires as of yet, but a nearly rain-less October could see burn bans instituted. This is yet another side effect of drought which has racked parts of Minnesota and currently shows no sign of stopping.
