(Primghar)– The list of counties in northwest Iowa under burn bans is growing. O’Brien county was added to the list today (Tuesday). It went into affect at 5:00 pm and will continue until further notice. Violation of the ban is a simple misdemeanor.
Similar bans are also in affect in Plymouth and Sioux counties.
Officials in the three counties site a very high fire danger due to ongoing and worsening drought conditions. They say the danger is likely to deteriorate further as vegetation dries out even more with fall upon us.
