(Milford)– Programs on preventing bullying are being presented this month at Okoboji schools. School officials say they’re in conjunction with the month of October being designated “Bully Prevention Month”.
Elementary students have been getting lessons through a program titled “Bully Be Gone”. At the Middle School, a program titled “8 to Great” was incorporated into the freshman health curriculum. It teaches students about positive decision making as well as identifying positive leadership.
In addition, a guest speaker, Fax Gilbert, will present a program on character and bullying this Thursday, October 27th; and middle and high school students will attend a session today (Mon., 10/24) titled “R5”. Three daytime assemblies will be offered for students with an after school program for staff members and an evening program for middle and high school students, their parents and community members. This (Mon. 10/24) evening’s program begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Okoboji High School Auditorium.
