Brutally Cold Weather Headed Our Way Along With More Snow

December 19, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Some more snow, followed by dangerously cold temperatures, will be in store for the region as we head into the final days leading up to Christmas.

The National Weather Service says several blasts of arctic air will be headed our way, including one coming in later today (Mon.) that will bring some light snow with it. The more significant one will arrive Wednesday when several inches of snow could fall, along with plummeting temperatures. Overnight lows Thursday morning will be in the teens below zero. Add a stiff north wind to that and we could be looking at wind chills in the range of 40 below to 50 below zero.

The dangerously cold conditions will continue into at least Christmas Eve. A wind chill watch will be in effect from the region from Thursday morning through Saturday morning.
