(Estherville)– Road construction continues in Estherville. Officials say work on a bridge on Highway 4 on the south edge of the city will get underway early Thursday (Oct. 5th). It’s part of the overall re-construction of the road. This part of the project is expected to last 12 days.
As a result, officials say the road in that area will be closed to all thru traffic during that time.
A detour also remains in effect for Highway 4 on the north side of Estherville, which also remains under construction. Officials say that as of earlier this week, some utilities in that area still needed to be lowered before final preparations could be made for paving.
Road construction also continues on Highway 9 on the city’s west side. Officials are hoping that two lanes of the highway could reopen to traffic by the end of this week. Some striping and work on storm water intakes remained to be done in that area as of earlier in the week.
