(Estherville)– A regional retailer plans to open a new store in Estherville this coming spring.
Bomgaars has purchased a 62-thousand square-foot strip mall on the city’s east side and plans to open a store in a portion of the mall formerly occupied by Hy-Vee.
The store will employ atleast 14 people at the onset.
Bomgaars officials say they’ll continue to lease space in the mall to some current tenants, Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits, Hallmark and Alco. They say they’re looking for other tenants to fill the rest of the empty spaces.
Plans call for the 18,500 square foot Bomgaars store to be open in late March or early April.
Officials with Bomgaars say they’ve been eyeing Estherville as the possible location for a new store for quite some time.
