(Spirit Lake)– The Boji Mammoths High School and Youth Hockey programs raised more than $9,000 for the American Cancer Society during their first-ever Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend at the Lakes Area Ice Arena.
The event brought together players, families, fans and community members in support of those currently battling cancer, in remembrance of loved ones lost, and in hopes of finding a cure. Funds were generated through the auction of 22 specialty Hockey Fights Cancer Mammoth jerseys, the sale of apparel, a raffle, a freewill donation lunch provided by Burger and Company, and a bake sale.
The Boji Mammoths thank those who contributed, volunteered and attended. They also extend appreciation to the Windom Eagles, Fairmont Cardinals and the Lincoln Jr. Stars hockey programs for their collaboration and participation in this year’s event.
