(Spirit Lake)– A correction to a story regarding Spirit Lake and the Blue Zone initiative. While Spirit Lake was not included in a list of larger cities selected for site visits, we aren’t necessarily out of the running just yet. It was announced this (Friday) afternoon Spirit Lake has been placed in a secondary category of smaller cities that are still in the running to be selected for site visits as well. The finalists in the smaller city category won’t be released until some time next month.
An online source from which we obtained information for our original story made no mention of that.
Spencer is among the 11 larger cities in Iowa that were selected today (Friday) for site visits in the larger cities category.
