(Spencer)-The Black Knights Car Club will hold the 14th Annual Airport Drags on Sunday at the Spencer Airport.
President Denny Houseman says the event is a fundraiser for the Club. “It kind of goes back to the time in the good old days when you’d go from stop light to stop light, you know, how you did when you were a kid, this is basically what we’re doing here, just having a good old fun time and raising some funds. This year we’re teaming up with The Shriners. which is our first year with them. It costs $25 to run all day. The vehicle that you’re using, it can be a pickup, a truck or a car, as long as it’s insured and it’s got DOT tires on it. We’ll check for safety features. That’s all you need.”
He says spectators are welcome. “We want to remind them to bring their lawn chairs, and it costs $5 for an adult and kids are free. The Shriners are gonna put on a little demonstration with their vehicles. We have a number of door prizes that we’ll be giving away. We’ll just have a good old time out there.”
Gates open at 9, with the races from 11-3 on Sunday.
