Barb’s Corner Crash Results In Minor Injuries

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)—A two-vehicle collision late yesterday (Sun.) afternoon at the intersection of Highway 18 and Clay county road M-27, or Barb’s Corner, sent one person to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Quinn Devlin of LaCrosse, Wisconsin was driving a 2007 Pontiac northbound on County Road M-27 and had stopped for a stop sign. Authorities say Devlin was attempting to make a left turn and was broadsided by a 2007 Dodge Ram being driven by 25-year-old Eric Joniker of rural Orange City.

A passenger in Devlin’s vehicle was transported to Spencer Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

$6,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Devlin. Damage to the pickup driven by Joniker was estimated at $3,500.

Devlin was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

The collision took place shortly before 4:30 p.m.
