(Emmetsburg)– Firefighters from several departments battled a fire over the weekend near the Poet Bioprocessing facility near Emmetsburg.
The fire broke out in some bales of biomass in a nearby stack-yard around noon Saturday. Firefighters from several departments responded to help bring the blaze under control before it could spread any further. Even though firefighters were able to contain the fire, it was still reportedly burning as of earlier today (Tues.)
There’s been no word as to a possible cause. No injuries were reported. There was no immediate information on a dollar amount of the loss.
