(Okoboji)– The public will have another opportunity to hear the award winning Okoboji High School Jazz Band.
Director Greg Forney says the band will present an evening of big band jazz Monday, May 16th from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Inn in Okoboji. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required by contacting the Inn at 332-2113. Parents of the band members will be seating guests as they arrive.
Proceeds from the event go to help defray costs for the band’s trips to Washington, D.C. and New York City every four years.
Forney says the performance will follow the same format as the Dick Bauman Monday Night Big Band.
The Okoboji High School Jazz Band has qualified for the Iowa Jazz Championships 18 times, has placed in the top five 16 times, and has won the class 2A championship four times.
