(Estherville)– The board of directors of Avera Holy Family in Estherville has named Cathi Scharnberg the hospital’s interim administrator while the process gets underway to find its next President.
Scharnberg has served as the hospital’s vice president of patient care since 2002. She has 23 years of healthcare executive experience. She assume the interim president position June 13th.
Scharnberg has a diploma in nursing from Methodist Kahler School of Nursing, a Bachelor’s degree in management systems and personnel from Buena Vista University and a Masters Degree in public health from the University of Minnesota. She is also a licensed advanced nurse practitioner.
Norma Beaver, Chairperson of the Avera Holy Family Board of Directors, says they have started the process to recruit a new President. Officials with Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls are assisting in the process, expected to take four to six months.
The new President will succeed Bill Bumgarner, who recently resigned to become President at Spencer Hospital.
