(Sibley)– Authorities are sounding the alarm about another new scam that’s making the rounds. This one involves a small package that’s shipped to your home.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the package contains a very small, inexpensive item such as a single screw. The package appears to be from a major retailer. It contains instructions directing the recipient to call a phone number if you have questions. Once that number is dialed a person on the other end of the line attempts to gain your personal information.
Authorities remind everyone NOT to give out personal information, especially to anyone you don’t know.
