(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the public to a new scam making the rounds.
This one comes in the form of a text to your phone. It claims your vehicle has outstanding traffic fines and that a final court and law enforcement order has been placed.
It goes on to say you must pay the fine by a certain deadline, and provides a link to make a payment.
Authorities say it’s nothing but a scam.
