(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office has released additional details into an apparent drowning this past weekend on West Lake Okoboji.
Authorities say they were called shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday to the 16,000 block of North Inner Lane on West Lake Okoboji. They say the victim, 30-year-old Andrew Goll of Des Moines, had been working on a dock in that area. He was found in the water near the dock by a family member. A nearby physician was summoned to the scene and attempted to resuscitate Goll, who was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake First Responders and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
Authorities say the incident is still under investigation.
