(Pocahontas)– A collision Tuesday in Pocahontas county involving a semi and an ATV sent one person to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 54-year-old David Vaiereb of Pocahontas was driving a 2009 Honda ATV and was pulling onto Highway 15 near Rolfe when he collided with a 2005 International truck driven by 50-year-old Douglas Hock of Humboldt. Vaiereb was thrown from the ATV, landing on the fog line of the southbound lane of the highway. He was taken by ambulance to the Pocahontas hospital. There was no immediate information available on the extent his injuries or condition. No injuries were reported to Hock.
$8,500 in damage was estimate to the ATV driven by Vaiereb; the semi tractor-trailer sustained an estimated $3,500 in damage.
