(Spencer)– The Spencer Police Department has released details into an incident in which an all-terrain-vehicle ran over a child shortly after 6:00 p.m. Monday in the area of Eighth Street Southeast and Grand Avenue.
Police say 10-year-old Demi Tripp of Spencer was driving the ATV around a yard when she apparently failed to see two-year-old Talyn Bauerly of Sergeant Bluffs who was playing with a group of children in the yard. The ATV ran over the boy. The driver of the ATV and a passenger got off and pulled the boy out from underneath. He was taken by his parents to Spencer Hospital to be checked over for possible injuries.
