(Spencer)– An accident over the Labor Day weekend involving an all-terrain-vehicle injured a Spencer woman.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Emma Holst was operating a Polaris Trailboss 325 westbound in a ditch in the 3200 mile of 330th Street near Lost Island shortly after 9:00 am Saturday. Deputies say Holst didn’t realize how steep the ditch was and that she lost control of the A-T-V. It struck a fence on the north side of the road. Holst was ejected from the vehicle and sustained multiple lacerations after coming into contact with a barbed wire fence.
Holst was treated on the scene by paramedics and was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation.
