(West Bend)– A crash in Palo Alto county Wednesday involving an all-terrain-vehicle has claimed the life of the operator and seriously injured a passenger.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called shortly after 10:30 p.m. to a location near West Bend. Authorities say 51-year-old Glenn Gearhart of West Bend was driving the A-T-V northbound on some private property when he collided with a tree.
First responders attempted to revive Gearheart, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 28-year-old passenger who’s name hasn’t been released, was seriously injured and was life-flighted from the scene.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Palo Alto County Ambulance, the West Bend Ambulance and First Responders; and the Emmetsburg Police Department.
