(Ruthven)– An assault Wednesday in Ruthven resulted in multiple charges against an Emmetsburg man.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a disturbance at 1806 Washington Street. Upon investigating, authorities learned that a Ruthven man had been assaulted. The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Matthew Thorsbakken of Emmetsburg.
Thorsbakken was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury; criminal mischief; public intoxication; interference with official acts and assault on a peace officer causing bodily injury…a class “D” felony.
Thorsbakken was booked into the Palo Alto county jail.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and the Emmetsburg Police Department.
