Assault Complaint Lands Spencer Man In Jail

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– An investigation into an assault complaint landed a Spencer man in jail earlier this week.

The Spencer Police Department says officers were called to the 500 block of 11th Avenue SW in Spencer around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The complainant told officers that a former co-worker of his had pulled up in a vehicle and pointed a pistol at him, then left.

Officers located a suspect matching the description given them shortly after 11:00 p.m. that same night in the 200 block of West 2nd Street. 21-year-old Daniel Sefcik was taken into custody without incident. A .45 caliber pistol and ammunition were seized.

Sefcik was booked into the Clay county jail on a charge of assault…an aggravated misdemeanor.
