(Arnolds Park)-It’s Art in the Park this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Pearson Lakes Art Center will host Art in the Park on Saturday at Preservation Plaza.
Visual Arts Director Danielle Clouse Gast says, over 50 artists will be showing their work. “We have 55 artists signed up this year, with 17 new artists on deck for this show. A lot of credit goes to our organizer, Jean Quinn, who is our Art in The Park Coordinator this year, with a fantastic slate of artists with a variety of media, pottery, painting, jewelry, fiber arts, just a lot for the whole family to see.”
She adds that it’s a chance to meet the artists behind the work. “I think that’s a powerful thing about this event is that, not only for the customer or for the client or folks who are just looking to have a day looking at art, that you get to meet the person making it, and on the other side of it as an artist, that we get to meet the folks that enjoy it and appreciate it. That’s a really strong piece in an event like this, especially when you can see so many artists in one place and get to meet a lot of the makers.”
Art in the Park will run from 9 to 4 on Saturday and is free and open to the public.
