(Spirit Lake)– Two Milford men face charges in connection with several recent thefts in the area.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says the arrests are the result of an investigation into thefts of merchandise which was returned to stores for cash or credit, or pawned.
Authorities say the Spirit Lake and Milford Police Departments and the Wal-Mart Market Asset Protection program were also involved in the investigation.
48-year-old Terry Tex Abbas of Milford was arrested and charged with ongoing criminal conduct, theft in the second degree, conspiracy and fraudulent practices.
47-year-old William John Smith of Milford was arrested in South Carolina on Dickinson county warrants for the same charges.
Smith is being held in South Carolina awaiting extradition to Dickinson county on a 25-thousand dollar bond.
