The Arnold’s Park Police were dispatched to a report of a stabbing on Lakeshore drive, early on Saturday morning, November 12 at about 3 am. During the course of the investigation, the victim was identified as William Rodney Clinkenbeard of Spencer.
Kenneth Leroy Scott of Spirit Lake is charged with Attempted Murder of Clinkenbeard, a Class B Felony. He was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Don Cornelius Purifoy of Spirit Lake was with Scott at the time of the arrest, and is being charged with Disorderly Conduct and Driving while revoked.
The investigation is on-going, and officials say more arrests and charges are likely.
The Arnold’s Park Police Department was assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Okoboji, Milford and Spirit Lake Police Departments. The Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue along with Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance also assisted law enforcement.
