Arnolds Park City Council Considering Change To ATV & Golf Cart Ordinances

August 19, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park City Council is considering a change to an ordinance regulating the operation of ATV’s in the city. City Clerk Linda Nase says it pertains to the age requirement for operation…

“We found out that the state code for ATV operations you have to be 18 years of age or older to drive them on any roadway, any street, highway, anything like that. And so we are looking at adjusting our city ordinance to match the state law so that in the city limits of Arnolds Park you also have to be at least 18 years of age or older to operate an ATV on a city street. And then going forward we’ll be discussing, too, whether or not to make the golf cart ordinance reflect the age 18 as well.”

The council discussed the proposed change at a special meeting this (Friday) morning. Nase says the council will discuss it some more at their next regular meeting September 14th, with a public hearing possibly being held in October.
