Arnolds Park City Council Adopts Revisions To Peddler’s/Transient Merchant Ordinance

January 12, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park City Council Wednesday adopted revisions to the city’s Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Merchants Ordinance. It comes on the heels of recent meetings between city representatives, transient merchants and some city council members. City Clerk Linda Nase says the hours of operations won’t be changing, but she says some clarifications were made to language and definitions in the ordinance…

Nase says another change does away with some exemptions…

On a related note, Nase says the council will hold a public hearing at their February meeting on a proposal to designate a pick up, drop-off zone on the south side of West Broadway between Allan Avenue and the city parking lot during set hours on Friday and Saturday evenings during the summer…

City officials in the past have expressed concern over large crowds of people gathered along areas of West Broadway and sited one incident this past summer in which someone waiting in line for a food truck was struck by a vehicle.
